Fahim Mojawalla of Island Ship Center was in Atlanta studying ways to improve his business when he realized his company had consistency in brand and consistency in message. He needed consistency in hours of operation, too.
In keeping with his philosophy of constantly changing and adapting, he said no more summer hours or holiday hours.
"After 12 years, we changed our hours," Mojawalla said. "We did a study for about two years and we found out that there is a lot more traffic that's coming on the Island later because of the traffic that's increasing at the bridges."
New hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (closed from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday.
It's already paying off.
"The first week that we launched those hours, I'm getting 10 people coming between 5:30 and 6:30," he said.
Mojawalla is celebrating two anniversaries this month: 12 years in business and 10 years at the present location at 1879 Whitehaven Road.
And to top it off, Mojawalla and his wife, Seema, have expanded a printing side of the business, printing things such as wedding invitations and wedding favors.
Mojawalla said his expansion (60-plus services) comes "by keeping it REAL: Relevant, Engaging, Authentic and Lively."
