27th annual golf tournament benefits Memorial Medical Center
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will honor the late Dr. John A.R. Marino at this year's Niagara Cup Classic golf tournament.
A beloved Niagara Falls area physician for decades, Marino was a co-founder of the popular tournament.
After joining Memorial Medical Center in 1962, Marino held a number of leadership posts, including chief of the department of medicine, head of the division of diabetes and president of the medical staff.
In addition to co-founding the Niagara Cup, Marino was co-chair of the tournament in 1994-95, served on the event's steering committee for many years, and was a member of the first winning foursome. In 2000, Marino received a lifetime honorary entry into the tournament in recognition of his service to Memorial.
The 27th annual Niagara Cup Classic will take place Monday, June 4, at both the Niagara Falls Country Club and Seneca Hickory Stick golf courses. Proceeds from this year's tournament will go toward the purchase of critical care lifesaving ventilators to support Memorial's cardiopulmonary services.
Marino will be honored during the tournament dinner, which will be held at the Niagara Falls Country Club. Dinner tickets, registration and sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting Andrea Gray at 716-278-4605 or [email protected].
