Project Pride to host spring cleanup events, disco fundraiser

Wed, Mar 28th 2018 07:00 am
After a long, cold winter, Project Pride of North Tonawanda is looking to spring forward with a series of cleanup and planting events. The group has been busy this winter discussing its planting and fundraising ideas for the upcoming season. In order to prepare for June planting, there is a need for cleanup. As the snow has slowly melted, litter and debris have appeared along key business corridors.
In order to continue the mission to beautify the NT community, Project Pride will host two cleanup events for Earth Day.
The group will meet in front of Webster's Bistro at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, and in front of Sherwood Florist, on Oliver Street, at the same time the following day.
Supplies will be provided but bring a pair of gloves.
Save the date for May 19 as Project Pride is hosting its first disco fundraiser event at the newly renovated Wurlitzer Building event space. This ticketed event will feature four hours of open bar, food and music. Project Pride is currently looking for sponsors for the event.
Interested volunteers or sponsors for the disco fundraiser event can email Barbara Hughes at [email protected].
Project Pride of North Tonawanda is a nonprofit citizen group whose mission it is to promote a sense of identity and pride among the residents of North Tonawanda, while attracting visitors to our community. Volunteers are a critical component to the group's success.
