On Saturday, March 24, the Town of Wheatfield Recreation Department will host an Easter party at the town's youth center, 2795 Church Road, Wheatfield. From 10 a.m. to noon, Recreation Director Mike Ranalli invited the public to come and enjoy the free community event.
Ranalli said there would be crafts, games, a bounce house, snacks, coffee for parents and the fan-favorite Easter bunny. Attendees can get the chance to take a picture with the Easter bunny, which Ranalli called "the big hit." Ranalli added, weather-permitting, the party may also have hay wagon rides.
Ranalli said the day for him, personally, is "a day where my staff comes together. They've been working on this for weeks, probably since Winterfest. I think people are really going to enjoy themselves.
"For the kids, it's a day to get out, see their friends, hang out, lounge and burn some energy off before they do whatever they do in the afternoon."
Ranalli added the party is one the highest attended events all year. Ranalli also continued praise of his staff, saying, "Much of the heavy lifting for this party was done by our Easter party Coordinator, Alana Edel, with the immediate help of Debbie Reed and Heather Zeller. The Youth Center staff knocked this one out of the park."
With winter turning into spring, the event is also a kick-start to, hopefully, brighter weather activities and a way to get out and enjoy the Easter season and the start of a new season. Ranalli said that, following the Easter party, the center will turn all its focus towards its Summer Camp.
