Sat, Mar 17th 2018 07:00 am
The Lewiston Community Lions Club will host "Springtime in Lewiston Art & Craft Show" from 4-10 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the Brickyard Brewing Company, 432 Center St., Lewiston.
Guests can get their Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day shopping done in one place. The Lewiston Community Lions Club is bringing together more than 30 crafters, bakers and artists. In addition, the event includes a 50/50 split draw, basket raffle, music, food and beverages.
Then, on April 29, members of the Lewiston Community Lions Club, along with their friends and families, will run and walk in the Strides Diabetes Awareness and 5K Run/Walk. The event begins from the Lewiston Fire Co. No. 1 firehall, 145 N. Sixth St.
Registration for the run will begin at 8 a.m., while the race will begin at 9 a.m. Diabetes screenings will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. Health screenings and information from local companies will be offered to the public. Refreshments also will be available.
Two hundred people are expected to participate.
"There's still time to gather your family, friends and neighbors to participate in the Strides event," Lewiston Lions President Lion Lynn Bahringer said. "This is an enjoyable way for the community to join together in the fight against diabetes. Contact the Lewiston Community Lions Club at 807-2409. In addition, we will be able to take your registration at the firehall any time before 9 a.m."
Lions all over the world organize Strides events in their communities to heighten awareness of diabetes and its complications, and to provide information on preventing and managing the disease. These events promote regular, healthy exercise and include participants of all ages.
