The Carnegie Art Center will welcome back the Bobby Militello Quartet and its leader, Bobby Militello, from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $10.
Militello's concert last year was one of our most attended jazz events in 2017. Ticket sales have already exceeded last year's event.
Throughout Militello's career of 50 years as a musician, he has formed various groups with styles ranging from fusion/funk to bebop. His first national recording, "Primal Scream," was with Maynard Ferguson in 1975, while his first solo album was recorded in 1982 on Motown Records: "BobbyM Blow."
Militello has merged his love for many types of music into his present style of bop, with his notable ability to express emotion playing the alto sax, tenor sax, flute and soprano. He has been on more than 250 recordings, including various television and film scores.
This event is sponsored in part by the Buffalo Society of Artists, the City of North Tonawanda, and the Members of the Carnegie Art Center.
The Carnegie Art Center is located at 240 Goundry St., North Tonawanda. For more information, call 716-694-4400 or visit www.carnegieartcenter.org.
