The second annual Lewiston-Porter "One District, One Book" reading initiative, this year featuring "The Mouse And The Motorcycle" by Beverly Cleary, will conclude with a family night celebration at the Lew-Port Primary Education Center on Friday, March 16. Dinner and activities start at 5 p.m.
Lewiston-Porter PTA organizer Julie Donnelley said this event is designed for the whole community and all are invited. Featured will be mouse-themed crafts, the STEAM challenge, storytelling in Ralph's Knothole, the Mountain-view Scooterville, Cleary books for sale, specials and librarians attending from each local library ready to sign readers up for library cards.
Apple Granny, The Spicey Pickle and Main Street Gas & Grill have donated dinner items. The event will feature an optional menu for families, with such foods as macaroni and cheese cups from Apple Granny, tacos from the Spicey Pickle, and pizza from Main Street Gas & Grille offered. A family dinner pack is available for $5 with the above items on sale pre-order for $1. Beverages will be on sale the night of the event for $1, while free snacks and ice cream will be available courtesy of the PTA. Other items will be $2.
All money raised will go to support next year's "One District, One Book" initiative.
