An event that started in the 1970s was reimagined Saturday as the women of St. Peter R.C. School presented a gala benefit. Once held in the student cafeteria, this year's rendition took place at the new wing of the Niagara Falls Country Club. There, parents, teachers, faculty and members of Rosary Altar Guild Society joined forces to stage a ladies luncheon, mother-daughter fashion show and grand gift and basket raffle, all to raise funds for the Lewiston elementary school.
Principal Maureen Ingham and parent Mary Alice O'Donnell served as masters of ceremony. The Rev. Monsignor David LiPuma offered remarks and an opening prayer. He also announced the winning ticket numbers.
In addition to basket items, the event included a 50/50 split draw and a raffle for tablepieces.
St. Peter's is located at 620 Center St.
