Obituary: Glenn Frances Wahl

Glenn Frances Wahl, 86, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2017. Born on June 26, 1931, in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada, Wahl was the daughter of the late Jean (McGinley and William Maher.
A graduate of Runymede High School and Toronto Teacher's College, she married Ronald Thatcher in 1954 and resided in Toronto. Glenn started her career as a teacher and then worked her way up in the dry cleaning business to vice president of Cadet Cleaners of Toronto, Buffalo and Rochester. She was also the first female to become a polygraphist.
In 1977 she married Bernard Wahl. Together they sailed and travelled extensively. Glenn was a Mensa member, loved life and her friends.
She is survived by her sons, Lorne (Margaret) Thatcher and Richard Thatcher; grandchildren, James Thatcher, Kailey Thatcher; and fiancé, Nicholas Buffone Jr. She is also survived by her brother, William (Barb) Maher.
Glenn's family would like to thank the fifth floor staff at DeGraff Memorial Hospital and Niagara Hospice for their compassionate care.
Glenn has donated her body to the UB Anatomical Gift Program. There will be a celebration of life at a later date for friends and family. Donations may be made to Niagara Hospice in Lockport or the M.S. Association.
