AAA Western and Central New York has announced its Four Diamond restaurant winners. Two new restaurants have been added, bringing the total to three restaurants and 22 total properties (19 hotels) in the Western and Central New York region that have been awarded the distinction of Four Diamond status.
Oliver's Restaurant (Buffalo) and The Kitchen (Pittsford) join Wildflowers (Verona) as Western and Central New York's Four Diamond-rated restaurants. There are only 46 Four Diamond restaurants in New York - 35 of those restaurants are in New York City.
Restaurants at this level offer a distinctive fine-dining experience and attentive service, according to AAA. Menu offerings are typically distinguished by highly creative chefs using top-quality ingredients and an upscale ambience.
AAA Inspector Notes
Oliver's: Locally owned and operated since 1982, Oliver's features a seasonally changing menu of innovative, creatively presented dishes. The selection of 500 fine wines earns high marks. Elegant table appointments add to the contemporary sophistication of the experience.
The Kitchen: As you step into chef Joseph Cipolla's "kitchen," prepare yourself for not simply a meal, but a dining experience and a personalized welcoming into the culinary world of one of the area's most creative chefs. Watch as dishes are expertly and artistically plated and immerse yourself in the culinary experience.
Wildflowers: This quiet and intimate restaurant presents a menu of traditional continental cuisine, including some menu items that are prepared tableside. Fresh ingredients and a seasonally changing menu reflect the chef's commitment to fine dining.
Currently, just 665 restaurants throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean hold the AAA Four Diamond rating - 2.1 percent of more than 31,000 AAA-inspected and approved restaurants.
"AAA is pleased to recognize these fine establishments as Four Diamond restaurants," said Carol DiOrio, vice president of travel at AAA WCNY. "To uphold the exceptional standards required on a daily basis to attain this rating is an outstanding achievement. AAA Four Diamond restaurants go above and beyond in attending to guests' needs and delivering memorable dining experiences."
All properties will be recognized by AAA at a private reception in April. Full details will be supplied to the media.
