Bald for Bucks: Niagara-Wheatfield vs. Sabres Alumni in charity hoops

Fri, Feb 16th 2018 06:40 pm
It began as a way to honor the life of Jim Campbell, the assistant principal who was dedicated to Niagara-Wheatfield High School.
Niagara-Wheatfield students and staff decided to get the school and community together to honor Campbell and others who lost their lives to cancer or have battled or currently battle cancer. A group of volunteers will shave their heads or cut their hair for Bald for Bucks. Niagara-Wheatfield will also host the Buffalo Sabres Alumni versus Niagara-Wheatfield faculty for a basketball game. Portions of the proceeds from the game will be given to the Bald for Bucks organization, as well as all donations that students and staff collect as sponsorships. All the proceeds from the concessions stand will also be donated to Bald for Bucks. The game is being held in the Niagara-Wheatfield High School gymnasium at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6.
The fun will include a basket auction from 3 p.m.- 8 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. This will be hosted by the varsity softball team, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Bald for Bucks.
Tickets for the game are $8 for adults and $5 for N-W students. Children 3 and under are free.
During half time, the volunteers will get their heads shaved for Bald for Bucks. During this time, the Buffalo Sabres alumni will be signing autographs.
Come out and join the school and community to raise money and support Bald for Bucks. Help the N-W school community fight the good fight against a terrible disease.
