The Buffalo Sabres announced a special edition Rick Jeanneret talking bobblehead presented by John W. Danforth will be available for purchase starting today. All proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation and Kevin Guest House.
Each bobblehead plays five classic Jeanneret play-by-play calls and can be purchased for $30. Autographed versions of the bobblehead are also available for $75.
"We could not be more excited to be partnering with the Sabres and our friends at Kevin Guest House to offer the talking Rick Jeanneret bobblehead," said Kevin "Duke" Reilly, CEO and chairman of John W. Danforth. "The Buffalo Sabres Foundation has helped support many worthy causes throughout Western New York, and the money raised by this initiative will allow them to reach even more members of our community."
In addition to the bobbleheads, a special $150 meet-and-greet package will be available for purchase at www.Sabres.com for a limited time. These packages include one Jeanneret talking bobblehead, two 300 level tickets to the Sabres vs. Boston Bruins game on Sunday, Feb. 25, and an exclusive meet-and-greet with Jeanneret prior to the game.
Fans can purchase the bobbleheads at the Sabres Store or online at www.Sabres.com/RJ. Online orders can be picked up free of charge at account services at KeyBank Center, or shipped.
"We are so grateful to our longtime friends at the Buffalo Sabres and John W. Danforth for helping to raise funds and awareness of Kevin Guest House with this one-of-a-kind Rick Jeanneret bobblehead," said Lynsey Zimdahl Weaver, executive director of Kevin Guest House. "Keeping families close is the best medicine, and it's our mission to provide a comfortable and supportive home away from home. As we take on our first-ever expansion to double the number of guests we can serve, these funds will allow us to support more patients and caregivers traveling for critical medical care."
Kevin Guest House, an independent 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, has been welcoming guests to this community for 45 years, providing a comfortable and supportive home for patients and families traveling to Buffalo for medical care. This atmosphere of caring and hospitality allows families to focus on their loved-ones without the stress of finding temporary, affordable accommodations. Everyone is welcome regardless of age, medical condition, or which hospital they're visiting. No guest is ever turned away because of an inability to pay the suggested lodging donation.
The Buffalo Sabres Foundation mission statement reads, "To identify and support local organizations which share our core objectives: serving children and military personnel, caring for the sick, assisting physically and mentally challenged athletes, and supporting youth hockey initiatives. By utilizing financial resources and community influence, the Buffalo Sabres Foundation assists these organizations and their beneficiaries in realizing their highest potential and succeeding in their endeavors."
