City of North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur G. Pappas and his wife, Linda, announce the eighth annual Mayor's Charity Snowflake Ball will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at Gratwick Banquet Hall, 110 Ward Road, North Tonawanda.
Following the tradition set by former Mayor Rob Ortt and his wife, Meghan, a local charity was designated as recipient. This year, the charity is the Boys and Girls Club, which benefits more than 3,500 youth in Erie and Niagara counties. The organization currently runs eight different sites in the Tonawandas, including Spruce School, Drake School and North Tonawanda Middle School in North Tonawanda, and the Newman Family Club, Fletcher School and Tonawanda Middle School in Tonawanda. Additionally, summer camp is offered at Camp Spirit in North Tonawanda, where many NT adults attended the fun-filled camp in their youth.
The festive charity event is an evening of music, cocktails and food, most of which is donated by local restaurants. Those interested in attending the event or in making a donation may call the Mayor's office at 716-695-8540.
