Enrollment is now open for 2018 Artpark Theatre Academy and Art Camp sessions. Artpark Theatre Academy is set to take place July 9-Aug. 5, 2018 (ages 10-18); four weeklong sessions of Art Camp will begin July 9 (ages 9-14).
Artpark Theatre Academy debuted last year to great success, including a full stage production of "Fiddler on the Roof Jr." Back by popular demand, Artpark Theatre Academy will allow enrollees to be fully immersed in a monthlong intensive theater community, gain experience in theater arts, work alongside industry experts and perform in a live stage performance.
The academy is co-directed by Paschal Frisina III and Toni Dentico, with daily workshops led by counselors and appearances by guest artists.
Artpark Theatre Academy will conclude with two public presentations of "The Odyssey" by Todd Almond and Lear DeBessonet. The production will be directed by Roger Danforth and will include more than 200 performers: professionals, students and community members.
The 2018 Artpark Theatre Academy will run in the Mainstage Theater July 9 through Aug. 3 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays), with performance dates Aug. 4-5.
Artpark Theatre Academy, appropriate for children ages 10-18 with all levels of experience, has limited availability for the low cost of $450 per student. Register by Feb. 15 to secure this special $450 pricing for the full four-week session. A $150 nonrefundable deposit is due upon registration. Tuition balance is due by April 2.
Four, weeklong sessions of Art Camp will be held: July 9-13, 16-20, 23-27 and July 30 through Aug. 3. Each session features artists-led workshops in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and photography. Campers will get the opportunity to show off their pieces at a camper art-show for family and friends on the final day of camp.
Art Camp takes place in the Outdoor Amphitheater family area (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays) and is suitable for children ages 9-14 with all levels of experience. The fee for enrollment is $250 per camper, per session. Full payment is due upon registration for Art Camp.
Registration for both Artpark Theatre Academy and Art Camp can be completed online at artpark.net. Printable forms are also available. Artpark offers a sibling discount at 25 percent and a Lewiston resident discount at 10 percent.
Gift certificates are available in any denomination and can be used toward camp fees or any Artpark ticket purchase. Visit artpark.net to purchase and print an Artpark gift certificate.
