The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute will open its life-size gingerbread village on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 28 Old Falls St., Niagara Falls.
Using over 5,000 pounds of gingerbread and 2,000 pounds of icing, the baking and pastry arts students and chefs of the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute have once again created a life-size gingerbread village on the second floor of the culinary institute. The gingerbread house will provide a magical setting where visitors of all ages can see Santa Claus, participate in holiday crafts, decorate cookies, write letters to Santa and see live culinary demos.
The weekend of Dec. 1-3 is an opportunity to see the decorated gingerbread houses submitted in the gingerbread competition sponsored by Delaware North. Weather permitting, on Saturday, Dec. 9, Santa Claus will arrive by Rainbow Air Helicopter on Old Falls Street, USA, at the cross-section of Rainbow Boulevard, in conjunction with Jingle Falls USA. A toy train show is scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 16-17.
The Niagara Falls Culinary Institute's "Gingerbread Wonderland" will be open on weekends Nov. 25 through Dec. 23. The hours are from 5-8 p.m. Fridays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays, and noon until 5 p.m. Sundays.
