Moving beyond its approval of the Rubino brothers' amended concept PUD (see related story), Lewiston Town Board actions were rather limited Monday, especially considering a meeting that stretched to nearly 2-1/2 hours.
Without comment, the board approved adoption of Lewiston's $17.287 million budget for 2018, as well as assessment rates and special district assessments.
On the numerous other agenda items that followed, the final outcome was "no action taken." Included was Town Board resolutions for: a Lewiston No. 1 Fire Co. training facility on Swann Road; rezoning for a Niagara University property; discussions on a Cold War veterans exemption; bids for a fire hydrant on New York Power Authority property; a Saunders Settlement Road drainage issue; a funding request for a proposed church/legion museum for the Sanborn Historical Society; a SEQR coordination approval for the Bri Estates subdivision in the Town of Niagara; a site plan application (tabled) for the east corner of River Walk Drive at Wolf Run; and a rezoning request by LMK Realty from R-1 (single family) to R-2 (multifamily) housing on Northridge Drive.
Of the Northridge Drive request, LMK Realty spokesman Dominic Massaro told the board his R-2 rezoning would be for 30 one-floor plan duplexes envisioned on the eastern and north sides of Northridge Drive, extending from Legacy Drive extending west out to Lauren Court. He said the housing would include a buffer zone and trees, intended to provide minimal impact to neighboring residences on Scovell Drive that the duplexes would back up to.
And Massaro said spot zoning considerations were not an issue, as the Niagara County Planning Board had already signed off on the plan.
Board members opted to take no action on the Northridge Drive request, but did approve an LMK site plan application for construction of a pool house/pool complex on Legacy Drive to serve the neighboring townhouses.
