A brand-new festival is launching in early December and promises to be a massive shop-local event. The Totally Buffalo "716Mas" Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 2-3, at Buffalo RiverWorks.
Building off the success of the first Totally Buffalo Festival this past May, the "716Mas" Festival will showcase more than 100 local vendors offering Buffalo-themed signs, shirts, towels, jewelry, photographs, paintings and more. Santa will be on hand all day on both days, along with appearances by Disney princesses, "Star Wars" characters, live music and other special surprises.
In keeping with the May festival, "716Mas" will continue to celebrate Buffalo and everything that makes us love it: the food, the drinks, the music, the sports and, most importantly, the people.
All of the food featured will be creations that originated in Buffalo. The featured beer, wine, soft drinks - all Buffalo brands. And to add that special festive touch, the live music will feature local school and church groups performing Christmas music all day on both days.
"Our first festival earlier this year was a huge success and we thought a Christmas version would be the perfect way to follow it up," said Scott Celani, festival co-founder and Buffalo-based musician. "The response has been phenomenal and we expect '716Mas' to be the biggest shop-local event Western New York has ever seen."
The Totally Buffalo "716Mas" Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door and includes a 20-percent-off coupon for items from participating festival vendors. Children ages 5 and under will be admitted for free. Advance tickets are available at totallybuffalo.com.
Buffalo RiverWorks is located at 359 Ganson St., Buffalo.
