Obituary: Ralph J. Vescio

Ralph J. Vescio, 67, of Grand Island passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Rita (Kilbride) Vescio and Anthony F. Vescio Sr.
Ralph graduated from LaSalle High School in 1967 and earned his bachelor's degree from Niagara University in 1971. He married his loving wife, Mary (Lauzau) Vescio, on Nov. 27, 1971, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls.
Ralph formerly served as the vice president of Parmed Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical manufacturing company founded by his father and later sold in 1985. He also served as the former regional owner of Decorating Den Interiors and was employed by Paine Webber as a stockbroker.
He was a board member and frequent racquetball player at the Niagara Falls YMCA. He was also a longtime member of the Niagara Falls Jaycee's club. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren.  
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Ralph is survived by his four daughters, Michelle (John) Lockett, Eileen Vescio, Sara Vescio and Jacquelyn (Jason) Masker; six grandchildren: Thomas and Kaleigh Lockett, Owen Brockvescio, and Gianna, Talia and Seton Masker; four siblings, Mary Susan (John) Holinka, Christine (Dr. Samuel) Sirianni, Anthony (Judi) Vescio Jr, and Jean Vescio; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 31,  at the M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept.  2, at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen R.C. Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
