Premier 2018 to honor Dr. Fast, Christopher H. Brown

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will honor a longtime beloved physician and a prominent Niagara Falls community leader for their service to the hospital and the community at The 2018 Premier, Memorial's annual dinner gala.
The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, 310 Fourth St., Niagara Falls.
Alfred Fast, M.D., has served the community for more than 50 years and has been a member of Memorial's medical staff since 1976 practicing and specializing in cardiothoracic/vascular surgery. A graduate of National University of Asuncion School of Medical Sciences, Paraguay, Fast is known for the compassion and kindheartedness he shows to each of his patients.
Christopher H. Brown, who will be honored posthumously, was managing partner of Brown & Co. LLP and served on Memorial's board of directors from 1986-97 and as its chairman from 1995-97. Active in the community, Brown served on numerous boards, including the Niagara Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Niagara Falls Board of Education and Artpark & Company. He was the recipient of many awards, including the Kenneth Ford Niagara Award for Community Service and Buffalo Business First's 40 Under 40.
Brown will receive the Nancy Gara Spirit Award. The award is presented in memory of a Western New York banking executive and former medical center board member who was renowned for her positive attitude and personal commitment to serving the community.
Proceeds from the 2018 Premier will be dedicated to Memorial Medical Center's intensive care unit for the purchase of new critical care smart technology beds.
