The Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation has named Dr. Gerald and Dr. Leanne Gorman and Murray and Marcia Hewitt co-chairs for The 2018 Premier, the medical center's annual black tie gala.
The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino.
Gerald Gorman serves as Memorial's chief of emergency medicine and has been with the medical center for more than a decade. A graduate of Cornell University and Georgetown University Medical School, he completed his residency training in emergency medicine at the UB School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences.
A native of Grimsby, Ontario, Leanne Gorman is a graduate of Cornell University, Georgetown University and University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. After completing a pediatric dental residency at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital, she worked at private pediatric dental practices in Boston, Rochester and Buffalo. Today, she stays busy raising the couple's three children - ages 11, 9 and 3.
Murray Hewitt, a graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in chemical engineering, is the general manager of Greenpac Mill LLC, and oversaw the startup of the $460-million Niagara Falls containerboard mill in 2013. He is a member of Memorial's board of directors.
Marcia Hewitt is a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and graduated from the University of Toronto. There, she majored in history and minored in political science. She most recently worked as a guidance counselor at the University of Mississippi School of Business.
The Hewitts have been married for 32 years and have two daughters, Megan and Margot, and a grandson, Clark.
