"Big Bang," by Plasticiens Volants, made its U.S. debut on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Artpark in Lewiston. The dazzling, one-night-only aerial exhibition combined large-scale pieces of floating art in the skies with performance artists on the ground - all to the beat of the touring company's original soundtrack.
The French theatrical troupe has been captivating audiences across five continents (and counting) for the past 40 years. Its poetic tale combined elements of science, nature, history and religion for the purpose of igniting the individual spark in each of the 3,000 people in attendance.
William Close and the Earth Harp Collective shared the bill with Plasticiens Volants. The musicians performed three sets, including a colorful encore that followed "Big Bang."
