Titled 'Calling All Superheroes'
Alan R. Elia, Jr. of Sevenson Environmental and Carol and Dr. John D. Greene of Lewiston will be honored at the Mount St. Mary's Hospital Foundation's 18th annual Good Works Gala, titled "Calling All Superheroes." The sold-out, creative-black-tie event will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Niagara Falls Country Club, 505 Mountain View Drive, Lewiston.
Elia, CEO of Sevenson Environmental Services, served as a Mount St. Mary's Hospital Foundation board member for six years, with two years serving as board chair. During his time on the board, he was the Good Works Gala chairman. Currently, Elia serves on the Nichols School board of trustees as treasurer, Wake Forest University Deacon Club board of directors and WNY Amateur Hockey League.
The Greenes are being recognized for their loyal and lengthy service to Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Dr. Greene has served the community as an obstetrician and gynecologist since 1976. Recently retired, he is still called in for special assistance at the hospital. Carol Greene has served the community since 1977 as a nurse, educator and, most recently, as head of the fertility care in the hospital's Center for Women.
Proceeds raised from this year's event will be dedicated to provide two new operating room tables, LED operating room lights and various scopes and surgical tools.
Gala chairs are Leslie and Christopher Leardini. Kate and Dr. Thomas Cumbo are serving as co-chairs. More than 340 guests from the community will attend the event.
For information on the gala, call the Mount St. Mary's Hospital Foundation at 716-298-2143.
