Same party, new location - Cornell Cooperative Extension
Tickets are now available for the Niagara History Center's Oktoberfest, an annual German party event celebrating authentic Bavarian food and music to benefit. The event, a fundraiser for the Niagara History Center, will take place from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at a new location, Cornell Cooperative Extension, 4487 Lake Ave., Lockport.
Donna Eick will provide a German buffet of traditional Oktoberfest treats, including bratwurst, roast pork, sauerkraut, sweet and sour cabbage, German potato salad, chef salad and dessert. Beer and soft drinks will be available from a cash bar.
Musical favorites return, too, with The Frankfurters, an authentic Bavarian-Swiss band that performs on hand-carved wooden Swiss alphorns, a singing-saw and Alpine bells. The Frankfurters will provide music, dancing, yodeling and games.
Special prize drawings and a basket raffle will offer many opportunities to win items and gift baskets. Event organizers will draw for the winner of a handmade Amish quilt in the "Country Rose" pattern. This heirloom-quality quilt is a top prize at each year's Oktoberfest.
Tickets for our Oktoberfest evening of German music and food are $35. Call in your reservations to the History Center at 716-434-7433.
