Fri, Aug 18th 2017 04:40 pm
The fourth annual "Flix in the Park" summer movies series will begin this Friday at North Tonawanda's Pine Woods Park.
Films featured during this year's series include Disney's "Moana," to be held this Friday; and "Lego Batman" to be held Friday, Sept. 1.
The series will also feature a bounce house and movie theater-style concessions.
Each event will kick off at 7 p.m. with movies beginning at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.)
The series, started by Niagara County Legislator Rich Andres, is free and open to the public.
"It is really about teamwork and we have been lucky to have a very cooperative team in city hall that (allows) me to put these events on year after year," Andres said.
The series is sponsored by Andres, along with Niagara County legislators Kathryn Lance, Randy Bradt; North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur G. Pappas; city attorney Luke Brown; clerk/treasurer Dan Quinn and the NT Common Council.
"We really do this as a way to promote the community spirit we have in this city," said alderwoman Donna Braun.
