The Grand Island Lions Club will conduct its annual White Cane Days on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 18 and 19.
White Cane Days is a major fundraiser for Lions Clubs around the world. Monies collected are used to support programs and services for people who are blind or visually impaired as well as for sight conservation.
The Grand Island Lions Club helps with a number of sight programs in the community, including supporting the library large print book section, screening preschool children for eye disease, vision correction for people in need, and support of the Ira Ross Eye Institute.
