Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas welcomes new executive director

The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas recently announced Adria Sortino as its new executive director.
For the past three years, Sortino worked as the senior program director at the Independent Health Family Branch YMCA. During that time, she cultivated relationships within the community to create program development and collaboration and support with local businesses. Sortino developed, managed and controlled budgets and expanded program growth by 50 percent. Her leadership and experience in budget management led to the successes of exceeding revenue and bottom line targets monthly and yearly. She was instrumental in the creation and growth of many programs by seeking new opportunities and developing community relationships.
She was recognized as Buffalo Niagara YMCA's 2015 Employee of the Year.
Sortino planned and executed fundraising events to support the YMCA's annual campaign, which included a one-mile kid's fun run for more than 400 children. She led the team in the YMCA's annual Health Kids Day event by coordinating, recruiting and building relationships with businesses to help support the mission.
Originally from Huntington Beach, California, Sortino moved to Western New York where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education and a Master's Degree of Science Education from Buffalo State College.
Sortino said she is excited to be part of the rebirth of the Tonawandas and is looking forward to meeting the community and working with its members. She also said looks forward to fulfilling the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawanda's mission by working to promote economic development and providing support to the businesses and the community.
