A cheerleading competition will be one of the highlights of the 2017 Niagara County Peach Festival. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Academy Park on Center Street in Lewiston.
Competition will be held for high school varsity and junior varsity cheerleading squads or youth football and all-star squads. Participants will perform a routine consisting of a cheer and music portion. The performance time is required to be between two-and-a-half and five minutes.
Trophies will be given for first, second and third place in each category.
There is no charge for teams to enter. Entries must be received by Tuesday, Sept. 5.
Visit www.lewistonpeachfestival.org/get-involved/cheerleading-application/ for the application to enter. For further information, contact Marissa Chapman at 716-940-7333 or email [email protected].
As a reminder, Peach Festival attendees can park for free and then take a shuttle to the event grounds. To do so, enter Lewiston along Center Street, follow the "Free Shuttle" signs and turn left at the second traffic light onto Portage Road. Follow the signs to the shuttle lot. Climate-controlled Gray Line shuttles will travel to the festival grounds entrance and back to the parking lot throughout the three-day festival (Sept. 8-10).
