Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello has announced his office, in coordination with the Erie County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Island Fire Co., will host a car seat safety check. The event will take place from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Grand Island Fire Hall, 2275 Baseline Road.
"Thanks to the help of the Erie County Sheriff's Office and the Grand Island Fire Company, residents will be afforded the opportunity to have their child's car seat checked for fitting and effectiveness," Morinello said. "In order to ensure our children are as safe as possible while passengers in the motor vehicle, the car seat that is being used must be fit and secured properly. A quick stop by our car seat check will give parents and guardians the peace of mind that their little one is safe while traveling."
Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard said, "My office works with many community partners and elected officials throughout Erie County on a wide array of public safety services, but I am especially proud when my office partners with groups to protect our children. Thank you, Assemblyman Morinello, for hosting the car seat safety event and inviting the Erie County Sheriff's Office to the event."
