Congressman Collins on Tuesday announced funding for Artpark & Company to support the presentation of Plasticiens Volants' "Big Bang." This grant was awarded through the National Endowment for the Arts' Arts Engagement in American Communities program, which is designed to support art projects in all artistic disciplines.
"This grant helps provide the perfect opportunity for our constituents to see, firsthand, the qualities of creativity and originality that artists demonstrate," Collins said. "The Arts Engagement in American Communities program has an excellent mission, to engage the public in diverse and excellent art. I am glad that Artpark will utilize this funding to present such a unique show."
The show - "Big Bang" - is an interactive outdoor performance that will feature giant inflatables suspended over the audience and operated on the ground by actors. Plasticiens Volants is renowned for its style and has been fascinating audiences for 40 years, including recently at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Artpark's performance is also supported by presenting sponsor M&T Bank, Empire State Development, Market New York Grant Program and the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission.
