Michael Freedman joins PRSA Buffalo Niagara Chapter board of directors as treasurer

The Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has announced Michael Freedman joined the board of directors as treasurer.
Freedman serves as associate director of public relations and manager of online content, and as an adjunct faculty member (communication studies) at Niagara University. As treasurer, he will manage and administer the chapter's finances.
Freedman has worked at Niagara University since August 2010. He serves as the university's liaison for print and broadcast media, contributes articles and photography to the institution's award-winning alumni magazine, composes talking points for high-ranking administrators, coordinates internal communication initiatives, and establishes and implements plans for all online content, including university websites and the more than 200 social media sites operated by the university.
Freedman serves on the boards of the Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce and the Center of Renewal at Stella Niagara. He is a member of the marketing/communications committees for Leadership Niagara, the Heart, Love & Soul food pantry, and the Buffalo-Niagara Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and previously served on the marketing committee for the Taste of Buffalo. He is also co-adviser of the Public Relations Student Society of Niagara University.
In 2013, Freedman received the Spotlight Professional Award from the Buffalo Niagara Partnership and, in 2015, was selected for Niagara County's inaugural 12 Under 40 class.
Prior to joining NU, Freedman was the director of communications at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo. From 2004-09, he held the same position at Artpark in Lewiston.
Freedman earned a bachelor's degree in communications from SUNY Geneseo and an MBA in strategic marketing from Niagara University.
Founded in 1963, the Buffalo Niagara Chapter has 160 members representing all areas of business and industry, including corporate, nonprofit, government, counseling firms, educational institutions and professional service firms.
