Gunderson awarded Lewiston Lions Scholarship

Courtney Gunderson was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Lewiston Community Lions. As a Lewiston-Porter 2017 graduate, she qualified and was awarded the scholarship based on her volunteer activities and service commitment to the Lewiston community.
Courtney has completed over 60 hours of community service with the Lewiston-Porter Key Club, as well as the Builders Club, where she volunteered to read to children and help with crafts. She has also been involved with the Kiwanis Club since third grade, when she made placemats for Meals on Wheels.
"I aspire to be someone who always gives back," Courtney said. "Volunteering for various activities for Key Club has given me the opportunity to learn about new things, and helped me realize I want to make a career of helping people, animals and the environment."
Courtney will attend Canisius College, where she will plans to major in animal science.
