Pappas delivers for Twin Cities Meals on Wheels

Fri, Jun 2nd 2017 02:45 pm
North Tonawanda Mayor Arthur G. Pappas participated with the volunteers of Twin Cities Meals on Wheels last Friday.

Following the proclamation issued by the mayor and North Tonawanda Common Council recognizing May as "Twin Cities Meals on Wheels Month," Pappas volunteered and delivered meals within North Tonawanda for the day (as pictured).

The Twin Cities Meals on Wheels program has continually serviced the Cities of North Tonawanda and Tonawanda for 44 years.

"I wanted to participate and help out with volunteering for this worthy cause," Pappas said. "I also want to thank the 120 volunteers that participate in this program all year long with preparing and delivering over 525 meals to our residents each week."

The mayor also wanted to remind the community to participate in donating to the 208 bell jars that are disbursed around the community at various locations this month. If anyone is interested in volunteering with this service to the North Tonawanda community, contact the organization at 716-693-1663 or visit its website at http://www.ntmow.com.
