"Penguin Days" returns to the Aquarium of Niagara this weekend (March 4-5).

Penguin lovers are invited join aquarium staff for a weekend of fun with group penguin encounters. Waddle into the Community Room to see penguins on stage and meet the aquarists, the folks who take care of these Peruvian birds. Learn what it takes to be a vet treating a sick penguin, take a turn building your own penguin exhibit, and help save the oceans by playing the "Marine Debris" game.

" 'Penguin Days' is such a loved tradition at the aquarium, and this year it is even more special because it's happening at the same time as the new Humboldt penguin exhibit groundbreaking," said Richelle Swem, curator of animal care. "Come visit Opus and her friends without the glass between you!"

Group encounters and activities are included with admission. Each guest will be given a ticket for a specified group encounter time.

The Aquarium of Niagara is located at 701 Whirlpool St., Niagara Falls. The venue is open daily at 9 a.m. year-around, except for Christmas and Thanksgiving. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is dedicated to education and conservation.
