Obit: Betty T. Adams

Betty T. Adams, 91, a Town of Lewiston resident for almost 60 years, passed peacefully under hospice care on March 30, 2016, after a brief illness.

The daughter of Robert S. Terryberry and Phyllis (Jenkins) Terryberry, she was born in Niagara Falls.

Betty attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She was employed at Niagara County Savings Bank (Norstar Bank), where she was a teller for over 20 years. Betty retired from Norstar Bank in 1986.

Betty is survived by three children: Christopher (Mary) Adams of Indianapolis, Stephen (Lisbeth) Adams of Grand Island, and Sharon (Bob) Lavelle of Springfield, Virginia; six grandchildren: Sarah Adams, C. James (Tammy) Adams, Amanda (Zachary) Grant, Jennifer Adams, Zachary Adams and Michael Lavelle; and three great-grandchildren: Reece, Riley and Lucas.

Her parents and two brothers, Stanley Terryberry and Robert Terryberry, preceded her in death.

According to the wishes of the family, interment will be held at a later date in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family wishes to convey a special thanks to Betty's friend and longtime caregiver, Rose Dorgan, and to the nurses and staff at Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
