Canisius College to host 'Soup with Substance' event to celebrate legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Canisius College ALANA Student Center will host a "Soup with Substance" program from noon to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the Regis South Room of the Richard E. Winter '42 Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Award-winning journalist Sandy White, Class of 1977, will interview Lillie Wiley-Upshaw, '91, vice dean for admissions and financial aid at SUNY Buffalo Law School, and Vincent D. Clark, '97, vice president for development and communications at the Buffalo Urban League. They'll speak on the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A Q&A session will follow.

The event will also feature a special performance by local gospel singer Bessie Patterson.
