Il Volo to play Kleinhans Music Hall Feb. 5

Parkanna Shows welcomes worldwide musical sensation Il Volo to Kleinhans Music Hall at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. Il Volo is kicking off their U.S. tour in Buffalo to support their new CD, "Grande Amore," due for release in late September.

In addition, PBS/WNED Channel 17 will air "Il Volo: Live from Pompeii" tonight at 9:30 p.m. The special offers a look at Il Volo's recent concert at the legendary ruins of Pompeii. The spectacle marked the first time since 1971 that an artist (the last one was Pink Floyd) had performed at this site near present day-Naples.

Il Volo (Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto) released their first CD in 2011. It debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard chart and has since sold more than 10 million copies. The self-titled CD contained ll Volo's breakthrough smash, "O Sole Mio," along with an emotionally stirring rendition of Charlie Chaplin's "Smile." Their vocals were on full display on the CD/DVD "Il Volo takes Flight-Live from the Detroit Opera House." The PBS special has been shown more than 2,100 times since its original airing in 2012.

Il Volo also has made appearances on "The Tonight Show," "Today," "The Talk," "Ellen," "American Idol" and "Good Morning America."

Il Volo sang with Barbra Streisand in 2012, performed at Madison Square Garden as special guests of Laura Pausini, won a Billboard Latin Music Award and toured the U.S. and Latin America to sellout crowds.

Il Volo performs under the self-proclaimed motto "Three voices, one soul."
