Historic Lockport Millrace Corp. has begun working on plans to renovate Lockport's long-vacant Electric Building located at the base of the Erie Canal locks. To support the renovation plans, the company will host a murder mystery fundraiser, "Key to the City," created by Albert Franco, at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Old City Hall, 2 Pine St.

As part of Lockport's sesquicentennial celebration, attendees are invited to enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres and step back in time to 1825. Lockport will throw a welcoming party for General Marquis de Lafayette, as the Revolutionary War hero marvels at the newly finished Flight of Five Locks. The party is sure to be a jubilant affair, but events will take an unexpected turn in this thrilling mystery.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $50 per person. For tickets or for more information, contact Dr. Todd Retell or Dr. Jim Shaw at 716-433-6004.
