Sat, Jan 10th 2015 08:00 am

The Town of Lewiston Town Board kicked off the new year Monday by addressing the nuts and bolts of government, with a flurry of adoptions, confirmations and appointments as the town gets down to business for 2015.

It also recognized long-time town employee Lisa Rizzo, who recently retired as justice clerk with the Lewiston Police Department. "It was Lisa's responsibility to record and maintain minutes for the police commission meetings, as well quarterly joint board meetings. Other duties included maintaining accurate budget expenditures for LPD, grant allotments, (and being) instrumental in coordinating a safe routes to school program in 2014 in conjunction with (the) Lewiston-Porter School District in securing a $55,000 grant from NYS DOT for a bicycle safety program for grades 2-5, supplying bike helmets and literature for students," Town Supervisor Dennis Brochey said in his remarks.

"Chief Christopher Salada, his department and the Lewiston Town Board expresses much appreciation to Lisa for her loyal and dedicated service on her retirement."
