Local artist Thomas Paul Asklar visited with the Lewiston/Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Club and gave a presentation about the "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," encompassing the true story, the 1970s ballad by Gordon Lightfoot, and the legends regarding the event.
The historical wreck is an event that continues to resonate with citizens of both the U.S. and Canada.
Pictured are Rotarian Anne Hopkins, Asklar and Paul Beatty. Asklar is planning a bigger event in conjunction with the Lewiston Council on the Arts for the anniversary of the event next November.
