"Making a Difference" will recognize and encourage the selflessness that shapes our community

WNED ǀ WBFO Buffalo-Toronto has launched a new multimedia initiative that recognizes area citizens who are contributing to the betterment of the community. "Making a Difference" will spotlight individuals who are going above and beyond to make Western New York a better place to live. It is also meant to encourage other residents to participate in meaningful activities that make a difference in the lives of others.

"There are so many stories of friends, neighbors and colleagues who are giving back to our community in extraordinary ways," said Donald K. Boswell, WNED ǀ WBFO president and CEO. "We're thrilled to be able to tell some of these stories using our airwaves and honor these very deserving nominees."

"Making a Difference" will highlight seven individuals in a half-hour television documentary to air on WNED-TV and with radio reports on WBFO-FM 88.7. Information about those being recognized will also be featured on wned.org, wbfo.org and station social media sites

"This is the kind of program we appreciate sharing with the community," said Lynne Bader, senior producer at WNED-TV. "Perhaps you know of someone serving the underprivileged, inspiring our youth or caring for the elderly? These are people who deserve recognition and, through their work, encourage all of us to make a difference.

WNED ǀ WBFO is currently seeking nominations for this recognition. Individuals wishing to nominate a community hero can fill out an online form at wned.org orwbfo.org or request a paper nomination form by emailing [email protected] or calling 716-845-7000, ext. 251.
