The Niagara Wine Trail will welcome a 20th member winery in 2014

The Niagara Wine Trail has announced the addition of its 20th member winery, Schwenk Wine Cellars, located off of Route 18 at 1456 Bills Road in the Town of Kent (Orleans County).

Schwenk Wine Cellars blends family-grown grapes and other fruits into heirloom recipe wines that are bottled on premises. Although the winery is a newcomer to the Niagara Wine Trail, it originally opened for business in 1983. In the vineyards, grapes such as Cayuga, Baco, Concord and others are grown. Schwenk offers travelers on the Niagara Wine Trail the chance to taste award-winning wines such as dry Riesling, Baco noir, Stone Bottom Cayuga, and a holiday favorite called "Santa's Secret," among others.

Schwenk Wine Cellars offers a cozy tasting room, which is open year round for wine tasting. An expansion of the current tasting room is planned to accommodate larger groups and events this coming year.

More information about Schwenk Wine Cellars, including its current wine list, may be found at www.schwenkwinecellars.com or at www.niagarawinetrail.org.
