Holiday-themed community open house comes to Niagara University Dec. 6

Santa Claus, meet Monte the Eagle.

Jolly Old St. Nick is coming to Monteagle Ridge on Friday, Dec. 6 - St. Nicholas Day, no less - for a holiday-themed community open house. The free event commences at 3 p.m., but festivities will continue throughout the evening.

Prospective Niagara University students are invited to participate in a special "Holiday Discovery Night," which includes a meal in Clet Dining Hall as well as brief informational presentations on academics, financial aid and the application process. Families signing up can also preregister for that night's men's basketball game vs. Siena or the NU Theatre production of "The Philadelphia Story."

In the spirit of the season, prospective and current students, alumni and the public are invited to visit with Santa, enjoy the lighting and blessing of a spectacular Christmas tree at the center of campus, take part in open ice skating, partake in holiday shopping, and warm up with festive refreshments.

3-4 p.m. Check-in and Campus Tours | Castellani Art Museum

4-4:45 p.m. Holiday Dinner | Clet Dining Hall

4:45-5:15 p.m. Christmas Tree Lighting/Blessing | Central Circle

5:15-5:45 p.m. Financial Aid and Admissions Presentation | Castellani Art Museum

6-6:30 p.m. Academic Deans Presentations | TBD

6:30-7:30 p.m. Refreshments/Treats/Shopping | Various Locations

7 p.m. Men's Basketball vs. Siena | Gallagher Center

7 p.m. Open Gym for Families | Kiernan Recreation Center

7:25-8:25 p.m. Open Ice Skating | Dwyer Arena

7:30 p.m. "The Philadelphia Story" | Leary Theatre

Convenient parking is available in the Castellani and Dwyer parking lots, adjacent to the Gallagher Center.
