Doodle Bugs! Children's Centers, a leading education-based child care organization in Western New York, makes it a priority to help teach children about the importance of generosity and thankfulness through the activities in its curriculum. However, staffers also practice what they preach.

Mr. Doodle Bug brought a box full of donations from the Orchard Park Doodle Bugs! center to the food drive hosted by Kiss 98.5 FM and DJ Anthony (pictured). The food was collected as part of the center's annual food drive, which also benefits the Food Bank of WNY. The center began collecting food Nov. 4, and it will conclude Nov. 22.

"The food drive is a perfect opportunity to introduce children to the joy of giving and the value of generosity. They take pride in giving back to the community and the parents are terrific supporters as well," said Sara Utech, director of Doodle Bugs! in Orchard Park. "We were happy to assist Kiss 98.5 in their initiative and our united goal of helping families in WNY this holiday season."

The Orchard Park center is located at 215 Redtail Road. It provides education-based care for children ages six weeks to 12 years, including preschool/pre-K and summer camp programs. The BRAVO! curriculum, which is professionally designed and exclusive to Doodle Bugs!, combines theme-related, developmentally appropriate classroom experiences, all-inclusive enrichment activities, and a series of center events. Enrichment activities include tae kwon do and "Doodle Dance & Fitness."

Doodle Bugs! utilizes unique safety features, including the new SafePass system, which is a biometric access system allowing only authorized family members to enter the center by scanning their thumbprint. The center is also equipped with Finger-Safe door guards, an automated external defibrillator, and real-time, password-protected online viewing for families, via WatchMeGrow.com.
