'The Great WBBZ-TV Talent Search' takes place Saturday, Nov. 9

WBBZ-TV will hold '"The Great WBBZ-TV Talent Search" Saturday, Nov. 9, from noon until 3 p.m., at the Eastern Hills Mall television studio (next to Macy's).

Do you have what it takes to appear in local television commercials, make appearances at station-sponsored events, or participate in locally produced programs? Then the "The Great WBBZ-TV Talent Search" is looking for you.

The event is free and open to the public. Applicants should be 18 years of age or older, be comfortable appearing on camera, have the ability to read copy, and bring the right personality to represent the station. Everyone who participates will be given copy to read for their audition, talk for a few minutes about themselves, and be interviewed by the judges. Individuals from some of Western New York's top advertising agencies, businesses, modeling agencies and media, will review candidates.

Applications will require a signature and only be available to those who visit "The Great WBBZ-TV Talent Search" event. Decisions of the judges are final, and no phone calls to the station will be accepted before or after the search. WBBZ-TV will announce up to four winners the week of Nov. 11 on the air and online at www.wbbz.tv.

WBBZ-TV Vice President and General Manager Bob Koshinski said, "This is a great opportunity for us to meet some of the top talent in our area, and support hometown talent on our hometown station."

WBBZ-TV is Western New York's only locally owned and operated station, located inside the Eastern Hills Mall at 4545 Transit Road in Clarence. The station airs classic television from the MeTV network; contemporary classics; and locally produced programs that include "The Fred Jackson Show" with Buffalo Bill running back Fred Jackson Mondays at 7:30 p.m.; "All Sports WNY" with Koshinski Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.; current affairs discussion on "Political Buzz" Sundays at 11a.m.; the feature magazine "What's The Buzz In WNY" with Kim Piazza Thursday nights at 7:30p.m.; and the nationally syndicated "Off Beat Cinema" Saturday nights at midnight.

WBBZ is seen throughout Western New York.
