One of Western New York's time-honored traditions is the running of the YMCA Turkey Trot. Held each Thanksgiving morning on Delaware Avenue, this event draws more than 14,000 serious runners and walkers alike, many of which are adorned in colorful and creative costumes making the event quite a spectacle.

Race participants are asked to join in for the second annual YMCA Turkey Trot costume contest on race day, Thursday, Nov. 28, at 8:30 a.m., in front of the Delaware Family YMCA (2564 Delaware Ave., Buffalo). Strut your stuff in front of the judges for a chance to win great prizes. Winners will be selected in two categories: best individual and best group costumes.

This contest is not open to the general public. For more information on the YMCA Turkey Trot costume contest, contact YMCA communications director Kathy Romanowski at [email protected].
