Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is celebrating the end of summer with free, outdoor health and wellness fairs at two of its primary care sites this month.

The first, "Grand Wellness" took place Tuesday at Grand Island Family Practice, 1801 Grand Island Blvd., Grand Island, in a huge, white tent in front of the M.O.G. (Medically Oriented Gym).

The second will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at the River Road Primary Care Center, Wellness Park, 624 River Road, North Tonawanda.

Along with free health screenings, the upcoming event will feature music, food vendor Smoke on the Water, interactive healthcare displays and a jewelry sale sponsored by the Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary. Physicians and pharmacists will be on hand to answer health care questions. Children will be entertained by the Fidelis Care Fidelisaurus. Child car seat safety checks will be done by the North Tonawanda Police Department and free brown bag pharmaceutical safety reviews will be provided by Wellness Pharmacy. To receive a review, bring your prescription and over-the-counter medicines in their original containers.
