Quaker Steak & Lube wins National Buffalo Wing Festival Favorite for second straight year

Casual dining franchise also takes home first place award for its Triple Atomic wing sauce

The award-winning casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube took the coveted Festival Favorite award, an honor voted on by fans, at the 2013 National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo. This marks the second year in a row that The Lube has been named Festival Favorite, and the third time overall.

In addition, Quaker Steak & Lube was also recognized for its Triple Atomic wing sauce, winning first-place in the Traditional Extra-Hot sauce category.

The National Buffalo Wing Festival is a two-day event that takes place annually during Labor Day weekend at Coca-Cola Field. This year, it took place on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 1. Each year at the National Buffalo Wing Festival, The Lube enters its sauces into three of the seven allotted categories. A panel of judges then decides which restaurants have the best sauce based on a blind taste test.

The compelling décor, including race cars suspended from the ceilings, motorcycles, Corvettes and gas station memorabilia, combined with its "craveable" food and "SuperCharged" events, has created a dedicated following for The Lube for more than 38 years. The company experienced significant growth in 2012 with 11 restaurant openings, a 22 percent increase from the previous year, and a 13 percent increase in system-wide revenues. The company has nearly 60 locations across 18 states and Canada.
