The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum is excited to offer a special morning of activities just for Cub Scouts. Scouts will be able to tour the museum's displays of historic carrousel animals, talk with woodcarvers at work, and see demonstrations of how band organ music is produced. Participants will do more than just watch, though, as they practice these skills with activities such as soap carving, making a simple pipe instrument, decorating a carrousel horse, and more.

"Cub Scout Day" will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon (check-in at 9:45 a.m.). Activities are designed for elementary-aged children and are linked to the state curriculum. Scouts will earn an art belt loop and pin by taking part in this program. This is a full uniform event.

Cost for this program is $10 per scout; adult leaders are free. Siblings and other guests pay regular museum admission at the door of $6 adults, $5 seniors or $3 children (ages 2-16). Space is limited to 40 participants, and advance registration and payment are required by Tuesday, Sept. 17. Register through the Boy Scouts of America Greater Niagara Frontier Council at www.wnyscouting.org.

The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum is housed in the historic Allan Herschell Company Factory building at 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda.
