Peach Queen applications now accepted

Applications are now being accepted for the Peach Queen Scholarship Contest, held as part of the Niagara County Peach Festival. Applications are online at www.lewistonkiwanis.org.

The contest is open to single women ages 17-21 who are residents of Niagara County. Applicants are required to furnish proof of age, such as a copy of their birth certificate or driver's license.

There are a number of activities that contestants participate in, including:

• Bowling mixer, from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, at Lewiston Event Center
• The movie "Brave" at 8 p.m. July 29 inside the Artpark Outdoor Amphitheatre, sponsored by Kiwanis
• Peach Queen fundraiser, from 1 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, at Tin Pan Alley
• Mary Kay night at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8
• Peach Queen dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 14, at the Niagara Falls Country Club
• Peach Queen picnic on Aug. 18 at the Lewiston Senior Center shelter
• Judging event at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at The Brickyard Pub and B.B.Q.
• Semifinals on Saturday, Sept. 7
• Pageant finals on Sunday, Sept. 8
