The Historical Association is hosting "Historical Happenings @The Lewiston Museum" this Sunday, July 14. It is a family event filled with re-enactors dressed in period clothes; craft demonstrators, including rope making; old-time artifacts; an old-fashioned photo booth; activities and vintage games for kids; and an antique and bake sale. Plus, the museum will be open and showcasing summer exhibits.

HAL volunteers be on the lawn of the museum from 1 to 4 p.m., celebrating the organization's 40th anniversary. They'll be celebrating in style with a birthday cake commemorating 40 years of preserving and promoting Lewiston's rich history.

Volunteers will share the celebration with past presidents and trustees, the Village of Lewiston trustees, Town of Lewiston councilmen, government representatives, and those who have consistently supported HAL and the work it does. The cake cutting ceremony will be at 2 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public. It will be held at the museum, 469 Plain St.
